Crappy little musing

Wrote this up while supposedly working on a bio lab report. CC, please, if you feel like it. It's not that great. :P

Tears are falling down those beautiful rosy cheeks as she clings to my forearm. Her eyes lock with mine, and it takes so much strength to look away. I stare at the cold cement below us. I can feel her nails start to press into my skin as she tightens her grip. Her scent won’t let me escape either; I can still smell summer on her skin. Distant memories of kissing on a beach begin to creep into my train of thought, but I manage to suppress them.
She whispers something. It’s a question. She wants to know if I’m sure. I begin a slow nod immediately, before I can change my mind. Even if I go back on it now, the damage will still be there. I need to cause her as much as possible. This needs to end.
I wish it was raining. In the sappy movies I was always forced to watch, it would always be drizzling lightly during this scene. The man would walk away, and a curtain of rain would conceal him from his sobbing ex-lover. Instead, the sun shines softly on us. There’s a crisp pre-autumn breeze stirring up some early leaves to the left.
I gather the courage to look at her. She’s staring down at the same spot of cement that I was beforehand. That beautiful red hair is all I can see. I restrain myself from running my crude fingers through it. She’s not meant for me. Instead, I place my scarred hand over her delicate fingers and remove her grasp on my arm. She doesn’t struggle. Her arms remain limp at her sides, and her gaze remains downwards.
I walk away, backwards at first, so that I can look at her for just a few more seconds. As always, she’s so beautiful. Slowly, I turn, and I leave her behind me.

Spring Break cont.

It kept raining really badly Wednesday. The street was covered, and the water came halfway up to the house.
I went over to Eric's later that night. The water was only a foot under the bridges across the bayou. We hung out for a while there, Sklar, Eric, me, Zuhair, and Jay, playing Super Smash. Then Sklar, me, Eric, and Tanya went to see Host. It was a Korean horror movie, but not that good...

Thursday Eric and I went to Galveston. I woke up with a killer headache so he drove. We ate at a really good burger joint (The Spot) across the street from the beach. Oddly enough, we ran into some old Bellaire kids there. We suntanned up and laid out on the beach for awhile. Then we played frisbee and built an awesome sandcastle. We played in the water some, but it wasn't really warm enough outside to justify going into the cold..
We drove past the strand on our way out, but then the car ran out of gas on 45. Luckily, we were able to pull over to the shoulder.

Friiiiday... I think I took Snowy to the park. Oh, and I had a doctor's appointment for bloodwork. They took my blood, and then realized that they only sent out for those tests Monday-Wednesday. Bah. The waiting room was eerie; it was full of pregnant women... who gave me the oddest smiles..
Brian came in that afternoon, and after working to set up Lindyfest, I went over and hung out for a bit before he had to go off to the dance.

Saturday (St. Paddy's Day), Joe K, Spencer, Brian, and I went to the Museum of Fine Arts because stuff from the Met was on tour. When we got there, we realized it was $11 and didn't start until noon. Brian and I had places to be, so we just got the general admission. We split up a little before noon after wandering around the general part. Brian and I walked through the sculpture garden a bit, then I dropped him off at the JCC.
I went to pick up my mom at the airport with my brother. It took forever because they lost her luggage. After that, mom and I went to the Mucky Duck, an Irish pub, for dinner and music.
Spencer's brother's party was after that. I got to hang out with Spencer, Joe C, Joe K, and Brian. It was a pretty good time. :) Brian and I went to after hours (Lindy fest) at the Melody club afterwards. I got home around 4:30AM.

Sunday I slept until 2pm and then basically just did laundry. I did a little homework, but I was feeling down that the break was almost over.

Monday morning Brian and I were supposed to go to IHOP, but he had such a long day that he slept in too late. I went over there instead while he was getting ready to leave and we hung out a little before he had to go...
Went to the doctor and got my blood taken again. Packed up, and got on a bus for Austin..

Luckily the bus was deserted, since it was a Monday afternoon one, and I got both seats to myself. When I got to Austin, Ruben, Chris, and Landon met up with me. After dropping stuff off in my room, Chris, Landon, and I went to eat Sushi. Got back to the dorm, did my calc homework, and wanted to pass out. Diiiidn't. I went over to Lee's and got the rest of the episode's of a show I've been watching. Stayed until midnight watching him play Paper Mario.

Got back and sleeeept.

Today was basically just the usual grind.

Yay for Spring Break!

Life is going pretty well.
Andy and I saw Requiem for a dream together. Um, good thing it wasn't a date. Not really a date movie! He was a sweetie and walked me all the way back to my dorm even though he lives on the other side of campus.

Ummmm. I really can't remember that much more before Spring Break. There was a Grease sing a long somewhere in there.
The weekend before the week before spring break, I felt pretty sick. I watched a lot of movies though. The Illusionist, Little Miss Sunshine, South Park movie... Friends partied, but yeah, I was sick.
That week went by pretty fast. In bio lab we dissected chick embryos! We cracked open the eggs into a petri dish, and then observed the live things under a dissecting scope. Luckily, mine was unfertilized, so I didn't kill anything. (We threw them away later).
Punch Drunk Love played that Wednesday. Good movie..
Oh, a guy from chemistry lab and I have started getting together to work on the labs. He's a really interesting guy. Dorky, but most of my friends are like that. We went to the Blanton after working Thursday night and played in the Penetrate thing. (It's this big square with little yellow rubber tubes hanging down).

Spring break.
Walking back from class on Friday, a guy from Mobile Campus got me to sign up for a raffle. I beat the whole seven other people that showed up and got a free $100 prepaid debit card. :D
Joe came up later that afternoon. We hung out at Spiderhouse for a bit, and then we checked out the science museum on campus. We hung out in my room some, played wii, ate at Moe's, and then went to a comedy show. It was pretty fun; one comic remarked that I had porn star hair!
We woke up early Saturday, ate at Kerbey, and then hit the road. Joe hadn't slept well so I ended up driving his Buick back. It wasn't that bad.
Amy K called me when I got in. I headed over to her place and hung out with her, Phillip, and two of her friends. We tried to go swimming, but it was too cloudy. We went to Jack and the Box and then headed over to Godwin. Amy, Sklar, Eric, Phillip, and me hung out there for a while. Then we (plus Daniel) went to Ranash, a hookah place. We played some dominoes and some of us (not me) smoked.
After that I went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show with the Spencer, his brother, Joe K, Eric, and Joe C. We were going to go get pie afterwards, but Joe's window got stuck down on the way over.

Sunday I think I just hung out with various old friends.. Eric came over and we beat a temple together. Took about four hours.

Monday I got my hair back to normal. I joined up with Jeff, some of his friends, Sklar, and David for kickball. We went back over to Sklar's house for a while and hung out, then had Potbelly's sandwiches after that. When we were all leaving, I realized I lost my wallet. I retraced all my steps with Sklar, but we couldn't find it. Eventually I gave up and went home. Luckily someone had found it and put it in the mailbox. The weird thing is that he said he found it in an intersection that I drove over. It flew out of the car?!
I also took Snowy to the Bark Park. He freaked out. He's not that social..

Tuesday (yesterday) Eric and I were supposed to go to Galveston, but it was rainy. We ate Chipotle with Phillip, Andy, and Sklar for lunch. Then Brian, Eric, and Andy came over to my house and we beat Zelda. Brian had to go, but Eric, Andy, and I went to Nan's comic book store. Eric and Andy picked up a few things. Then we went to Eric's house for dinner. We played some SNES and watched 101 Dalmations and some old looney tunes.

Today has been pretty boring. I took Snowy to the dog park this morning before the rain hit, but not that many people were there. It's been raining really badly off and on ever since, so I've just stayed in the house. I feel pretty sick anyway.

Still alive

And still bad at this.

Let's see. Last weekend I spent mostly studying. Matt through an awesome party Saturday night though. It was at Lando's, and we snagged a table for beer pong. We also had 80s music going most of the time. Fun times.

I aced my bio test on Monday, but I failed calculus on Tuesday...

I was supposed to see Rushmore with Andy on Wednesday night, but he bailed because of tests.

Thursday after class I went with Gene to the Rizome (sp?) to cook for Food Not Bombs. We made some yummy mashed potatoes, cold pasta casserole, and a chickpea dish with curry powder. It was for the hippies at EF! though. :P After that I went over to Lee's and played Wii, surfed the net with him, watched Family Guy, ect until about midnight.

Friday after class we (Chris, me, and Britnee) went to go see Obama speak across the river. We skipped the massive line for the shuttle and road the normal bus down. Suckers! After waiting in the rain and listening to a crappy band or two, he finally came on. He was a really good speaker, especially considering this was his biggest audience yet and he had no notecards. We hopped on a bus and Chris and I went to sushi while Britnee headed back. After getting back to the dorm and catching my breath, I headed to Bea's birthday thing at Kinsolving. We goofed off, ate, and played some pool. Then we went over to Whitis after trying to bowl failed (too full), played some Guitar Hero, and watched The Departed. I slept through some of it because I was exhausted, but what I saw looked cool.

Saturday, woke up at about 11 and showered. Called AJ, met for lunch, and headed out. After getting on the wrong Tour the Town bus and chatting with a friendly bus driver, we eventually made it to the botanical gardens. Some of it was dead, but there was still a lot of pretty things to see. I got to use my new camera with a roll of color film. Fun. :D
Then we took the bus down to the Nature center and walked/hiked around a bit. We went up to the top of this mountain thing to get to a lookout, but all that was in front of us was shrubbary. When we finally turned around, we realized why it was a lookout. We could see the skyline! Haha, we're dumb.
We headed back and hopped the bus back to campus. After grabbing something to eat at an awesome restaurant, Longhorn PoBoys, we tried to find the Natural History Museum. After wandering around for a bit, we finally found it... but it was closed. We headed back to Moore-Hill and AJ showed me around so I could figure out what rooms I wanted for next semester. After popping in Jeb's room to say hi, we split up.

Today I CLEANED. The room (well, my half, was a mess). I also did a little homework and mostly goofed off.

Ah, good times up here in Austin. This week I'm supposed to see Requim for a Dream with Andy on Wednesday.

Oh man

I fail at this LJ thing.

Halloween was fun! We went trick or treating in this ritzy neighborhood. Sixth street is rumored to be NUTS on Halloween. When we finally managed to get down there, it definitely lived up to the story. The place was packed with awesome costumes! After that I'm pretty sure we just hanged out at Landon's.

November was a great month. :D
I saw BARE NAKED LADIES in concert with Ian. That was so amazing! They put on an awesome live show. Then we went out for IHOP. The only bad thing about the night was that UT lost to Kansas and our shot at another National Championship. Oh wells.

Thanksgiving break was fun fun too. I went home with Chris and Bea after a badly scheduled Bio test Tuesday night. Nothing like driving through the country with the windows down and music blaring. The stars were so pretty.. We made great time until we got to a bad accident. Luckily we maneuvered our way around it. We dropped Bea off, and then I ended up meeting Chris' parents. They seem like awesome people. After a quick Starbucks run I got home as well around midnight.
Thanksgiving itself was nice with the family. So much food.. and pie! As tradition, we watched movies afterwards. This year it was Cars and Ice Age II. That night was Joe K's party. It was nice to see a lot of old friends. I had to get up early the next day to go to the A&M // UT game, so I didn't do anything other than hang out.
Friday Chris and I drove up to Austin again for the game. It was fun hanging out with him, Ruben, and Erik, even if we did loose the game. This time I got home at a reasonable hour so I brought Chris in to meet the family. He's a car guy (like most) so I asked Dad to fire up the Mustang for him. He seemed to enjoy it. :P They seemed to like him. (Haha, for noteworthyness, we are NOT dating. Although my mom thinks he's cute.. :P)
The rest of the break I just hanged out with my family. We were all together for once! We had a mock Christmas since we will be split up on the real one. I can get a Wii once they restock in shelves! :D
Chris and I drove back alone again to Austin that afternoon. I can't remember much other than a Subway pitstop.

December
Month has been nice so far. Last week was the last week of classes so PARTY and relaxing this weekend! :D Friday night we party hopped. I tried Vodka at Jame's. It burned like crazy. Luckily my guy friends were around me to catch me. Then we headed off to Kristen's friend's place. After that we tried to get into another or two, but by then they were dry or closed. We ended up going back to Lando's for awhile. I was tired so Chris and I ended up dozing in and out(semi cuddling) on the couch. Dragged ourselves to campus around 4 or 5pm.

Last night was Secret Santa party! Oh, man, so much fun with friends. We had it at Erik's apartment. Erin cooked this amazing shrimp fettucini and then Erik made drool worthy fajitas. Most people loved their presents. I got a copy of American Beauty and some mini Reese's cups.
TO BE CONT
